During your support with ASSIST, we will talk to you regularly about your safety. You will probably already be taking action to keep yourself safe, even if you don't realise it. Your worker can help you to come up with a safety plan that is personal and works for you. You might find it helps to have a copy of your safety plan in writing, if it is safe to do so, and we have included a blank form for you to use: Safety Plan Template (Word doc, 22 KB)(opens new window)
If at any time you feel at immediate risk or danger, you should call 999. If you are unable to speak to them without alerting your abuser, press 55 when prompted and your call will be transferred to the police. You can find out more about this here: Silent Solution 999 Calls.
We have included some safety planning suggestions for each of the topics in the navigation that you might find useful.
Before taking any of these safety steps, please consider if it might add to your risk. If you have any concerns, please speak to your ASSIST worker.
